Winter and spring are my favorite times of year—winter brings the holidays and, at our headquarters in New York, cold weather that amazingly doesn’t deter locals and travelers from all the activities and events of the festive season. In fact, people embrace the blanket of snow that envelops the city. And the transition to warmer weather in the spring is always a beautiful, welcome reminder of renewal and fresh inspiration.
As much as I love the changing of the seasons here, each of the Loews destinations throughout North America has something special to offer this time of year—from winter extravaganzas for the whole family in Montreal and Quebec City, and historical journeys through Boston’s multicultural neighborhoods, to shopping in the Los Angeles sunshine and the nation’s biggest culinary party in Miami. In this issue of Loews Magazine, we aim to bring you a sampling of the seasons’ best, whether you celebrate the temperature transitions or wish to escape them.
Of course, along with the New Year, we have many exciting developments to celebrate at Loews Hotels & Resorts, including the anticipated reopening of Loews Regency Hotel in New York in January 2014, and a makeover for Loews Boston Hotel that will coincide with the arrival of spring.
At Loews Hotels & Resorts, we aim to present our guests with a wide variety of experiences for each season while providing them with an authentic look at each unique city. Across all of our hotels and resorts, however, you’ll find consistency in the personalized service and attention to detail that the Loews brand has been known for since my father and uncle started the company in 1946.
So whether you choose to trek to museums in the snow in Washington, D.C., or sip a cocktail by an oceanfront pool in Miami Beach, we hope you spend this season just the way you want it. If there is anything the Loews Hotels & Resorts family can do for you to make your stay more fulfilling, please let us know.
